Magus is not a novice-friendly class. If you just need 2-handed weapons with some casting abilities, Fighter+Wizard or Fighter+Sorcerer would be easier to handle. Multiclass is pretty simple - you replace one of the class feat with special multiclass dedication feat. After this, you could spend your class feat for either your base class feat or ...
