The practice of program evaluation at CDC advanced considerably with the 1999 release of the report, Framework for Program Evaluation in Public Health. 6 Since its release, the Framework has been a primary driver for CDC evaluations and has caused them to become more situation-specific, participatory, aptly designed, and appropriately implemented.The emphasis is on practical, ongoing evaluation strategies that involve all program stakeholders, not just evaluation experts.
