UNDERHOOD SOLUTION: As drawn, connecting a switch with (+)12V to the Underhood fuse box, connector/pin X1/B5 (Blue/Yellow), will provide direct power without going through a relay. The brown/white wire from the trunk release button goes to the BCM, then a light blue goes to the relay, which sends the 12V power signal to the trunk release motor via a tan/white wire.
